Not only will leadership enlighten my mood, but it will also give me the opportunity to learn more and consider more options. I promise to fulfill what I can best fulfill and make the next first semester school year one to remember. Remember to brin. your ID and please consider voting for me as your next ASB President on Thursday, May 25th. I have big things in mind! You all will not regret what I have in store for all of you. Thank you.

Ryan On and Tina Yee:

Hey Panthers! I'm Ryan On and I'm Tina Yee and we're running to be your next Big ASB President and Vice. Some qualities about us are that we work well together, we're responsible, trustworthy, and have had previous experience in various leadership positions. As previous officers of class ASB, we have insight and are knowledgeable on the responsibilities that the Big ASB President and Vice President need to fulfill. We understand that communication is essential in a cabinet and in informing the student body on school events. We are extremely dedicated to all our tasks and will persevere through any difficulties we may encounter to make sure that the students enjoy their time at RHS. With our fresh, new ideas for school dances and to raise school spirit, we promise to transform the negative aspects of ASB into positive ones and to better events for all students. We look forward to listening to all suggestions and ideas from everyone to make sure that we can successfully be the voice for all students. You can count ON us to do our best to ensure another great school YEEr for everyone. Thank you!

Yvonne Tran and Felix Ung:

Hey panthers, we're Yvonne & Felix, and we are running for your ASB president and vice president. We believe that we are capable of making the first semester of our upcoming school year a memorable time of events, ranging from a Pawtastic Big R to an amazing winterball. With our charisma, determination, and leadership, the two of us aim to bring much greatness and success during our last year as Rosemead panthers. We easily fell in love with ASB's atmosphere as freshmen, and three years later, our dedication and respect for this club have only increased. Although at times our position consists of us spending relentless and tiring hours at school constantly painting, we would not change it for the world because we love what we do. The two of us would be thrilled to represent the students of Rosemead High, and to be able to advocate for your decisions and ideas! We hope you guys can assist us in TRANsforming the school to make the next school year an UNGforgettable one. We plan to live up to and exceed the expectations that is set up for us!

So you want to be on the yearbook staff next year?

Here’s what you need to do:

Read through the application packet (link is below). Read all of it.

Please consider carefully whether or not being on the yearbook staff will fit into your schedule and time commitments next year. You may want to ask current yearbook staff members about their experiences to help you in your decision.

If you’re still interested, complete the application (link is below). Be thorough, specific and impressive in your personal statement. Don’t assume. If you have a question or a concern, see or email the adviser before the due date! (karrie.hensley@emuhsd.org)

Choose two teachers who know you well. **One must be your current English teacher.** Give each a copy of the teacher recommendation sheet (attached). Ask him/her to return it to my mailbox or classroom (room 204). Double check with your evaluating teachers to make sure that they have turned in the evaluation on time. It is your responsibility, not theirs.

Turn in everything to Ms. Hensley in room 204 or in her main office mailbox by Friday, May 19, 2017

Hello panthers! Due to the rain, your 2nd Semester ASB President and ASB VP nominees', will not be able to give their speech at the quad during lunch. However, you can read about their speeches here and learn more about them. The nominees are Cindy Tang for ASB president and Royce Ho as her ASB Vice President and Sharon Dinh for ASB president and Ivan Ip as her Vice President.

Cindy Tang

What's up Panthers! I'm Cindy Tang and and I'm running to be your next ASB President. I have always been passionate about student government and after serving as your Vice President for the past semester, I hope to be able to continue feeding my ideas and hard work to improve our school. During my time in ASB, I've been able to plan and execute several school dances, organize and run the student government, and help out with smaller school events. My experience makes me a strong contender for president. My work ethic, reliability, and overall passion for ASB makes me someone you can depend on for this position. I want to continue contributing to our campus, making a difference anyway I can. I'll implement fresh ideas to boost spirit and participation, as well as allowing students to voice their opinion and ideas for events. I want to boost school morale and create events students want to attend. Vote for me this Friday and allow me to continue bringing my hard work and dedication to this school!

Royce Ho

I'm a candidate who knows what fun is and a candidate who fulfills their promises: I know what people want and how to make it happen. I've held leadership position in the past, whether it be tenor section leader of chamber choir or as the vice president of BAGATHS. However, i feel my term as commissioner of renaissance is proof of my efforts. With the help of my partner Luis Perez, this semesters events were refreshing and out of the box. Big R was different this year, where we implemented more fun activities and interaction with the crowd: examples being more things to giveaway and new games like the human hamster balls. Not only that, but the Renaissance BBQ was much more smooth and efficient that the previous years. As Vice President of ASB alongside my President Cindy Tang, we plan to bring new creative ideas as well as improving what we already have.

Sharon Dinh

“Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time, we are the one we’ve been waiting for. We are the change that we seek” Mr. Obama once said. Being in ASB for two and a half years now, as Sophomore class president, to your commissioner of Publicity, and just last semester as your ASB Treasurer. I’ve noticed the positive and negative aspects of this school. One of the positive aspects in this school is the hard work, creativity, and talent this school showcases. One of the downsides aspects of this school is the lack of participation and spirit. Well it’s time for that change to come where we bring our positive sides out. We all have what it takes to make this school a more positive environment and we all have the ability to be leaders and this is where bringing in Ivan and myself in as your next ASB President and Vice President. We want to hear your voices and use your hard work, creativity, and talent to making this an unforgettable year. John F. Kennedy once said..”Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country.” As your next ASB President I need your voices to make this an AMAZING YEAR with new events and plans for the future. Together Ivan and I, will not only try to hear your voices and opinions but make them actually happen to the best of our abilities. We will make our school a more positive fun-filled experience like making Luau poppin’ like Beyonce! So DINH for the win IP you vote for Ivan and I this Friday at the Quad..Don't forget to bring your IDs!!! THANK YOU AND ENJOY YOUR REST OF THE DAY because NEW YEAR NEW SCHOOL!

Ivan Ip

Hello fellow panthers, my name is Ivan Ip and I'm running for Vice President with my good friend Sharon Dinh. If we become your next ASB president and Vice President, we will work our hardest to promote school spirit and more involvement from you, the student body. How will we do this? We will create more activities that will capture your attention. What kind of activities? Well that is up to you! If we do become your next president and Vice President, we will do our best to cater events to your liking so that there will be more participation and more spirit! With your vote, our visions for second semester will come to fruition. So please vote Sharon Dinh as your next president and I, Ivan Ip, as your next Vice President. Thank you!

Voting will be held at the 60s hallway this Friday. You MUST have your ID present.
